Christopher’s Reason, a fully operating OASAS Outpatient Clinic, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to provide clinical support, counseling, and guidance to individuals in recovery. The LMHC will play a vital role in creating and implementing treatment plans, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support clients in achieving long-term wellness. This position can be for part-time or full-time, and the salary range is $25-$30 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and licensure. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions to clients managing substance use disorders.
- Conduct clinical assessments to determine clients’ treatment needs and goals.
- Perform mental health, substance use, and risk assessments in accordance with OASAS standards and clinic policies.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in alignment with OASAS regulations.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups to promote resilience, coping skills, and relapse prevention.
- Coordinate care with medical staff, peer support, and other team members to ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state, agency, and OASAS requirements.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development.
- Maintain required certifications and complete all continuing education requirements.
Qualifications:
- LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) — required.
- MHC-LP (Mental Health Counselor Limited Permit) may be considered based on experience.
- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field.
- Experience in substance use disorder or mental health counseling preferred.
- Excellent punctuality, dependability, and professionalism.
- Strong communication (verbal and written), organizational, and clinical skills.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in substance use disorder treatment.
- Compassionate, client-centered approach with the ability to engage diverse populations.
